ECO-FRIENDLY SWAPS

Over the past year, as well as having a more planet conscious diet, I’ve also been making some other changes to my life to be more sustainable. So, this post is a little list of some toiletry products you can swap for a more eco-friendly option.

You’ve probably already seen them on Instagram, but vegan razors are a great eco-friendly swap. I am obsessed with my Estrid razor. It is so much better to use than disposable razors and it is completely vegan. The way it is designed is specifically for the female body and a starter kit is only £7.95. Sustainable and affordable. If you haven’t already swapped to a vegan razor, you definitely need to.

Something I have more recently swapped to is a recyclable toothbrush head. If you own an electric toothbrush, you will most likely have to swap the head every few months. But what we don’t think about is whether that toothbrush head is biodegradable and where it goes once we throw it away. However, with these recyclable toothbrush heads you know that they are 100% recyclable and are vegan and cruelty free. For a pack of two it is only £6.97 from Amazon and is cheaper if you want to have a subscription to receive them every three months. Amazing.

Another product I have recently purchased is some reusable makeup remover pads. Cotton wool pads were something I used to use every day and after using them would just throw them in the bin. But after seeing lots of brands starting to do reusable versions, I knew I had to get on board. They are so much nicer to use and in the long run are a whole lot cheaper. All you have to do is give them a wash once you’ve used them and you can use them again the next day. I got mine from Amazon but there are so many different places that do them.

Something I haven’t yet invested in, but I do want to is a refillable deodorant. I have seen a few brands doing these and they look amazing. These tend to work similar to the razors in that you choose a case and a scent and then every month or so you get new plastic free refills through your door. Fantastic. And as they are 100% natural there are no nasty parabens or aluminium in them.
