My recent second-hand finds

Through lockdown I have been enjoying spending more time on second-hand apps such as Vinted and Depop. As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I think I scroll through these apps as much as I do Instagram nowadays. I just love searching for pre-loved clothes. There is something so satisfying and exciting about it. So, let’s have a little look at my recent second-hand finds and how I have been styling them.

One thing I love finding second-hand is jeans. I hate when you buy new jeans, and you spend the first few months wearing them in. With second-hand denim, you skip that step and go straight to the super comfy stage. I have recently bought a pair of white, wide leg jeans, originally from Topshop, from Depop and I am obsessed with them. I think I now want a pair in every colour. They are so flattering and add that extra edge to an outfit. I love styling them with my trusty black converse and a tank top for that minimal look. Throw a trench coat over the top and it looks so chic.

Another thing I have been obsessed with recently is sweater vests. They are a great piece to add to your wardrobe and even better, there are so many on Depop and Vinted. My most recent sweater vest find was a gorgeous cream Ralph Lauren one and I am in love with it. I didn’t know I needed it in my wardrobe until now. It is the perfect style and fit and goes with so many outfits. My favourite way to style it is with a pair of wide leg trousers and a t-shirt underneath with some layered jewellery. It is so simple but such a classic piece. As you have probably seen, Zara are killing it with their range of sweater vests at the minute, and I have been lucky enough to find some on Depop and Vinted. As you can see in the images, I am obsessed with the baby pink vest with gemstone buttons. When I saw this on the Zara website, I knew I had to have it and amazingly dropped on one on Vinted which still had the tags on. I think this vest could be styled so many ways and the colour makes it the perfect spring piece. I have since found a blue and pink patterned vest on Depop which I will insert and image of from the Zara website as I haven’t had chance to wear this yet. But again, I can’t wait to style this up.

Staying on the subject of knitwear a few weeks ago I found a gorgeous pastel yellow jumper on Depop, originally from Weekday. I had been wanting a knit in this colour for Spring, so I was very pleased when this popped up on my Depop feed. Unfortunately, when I received this and tried it on it was super itchy and I don’t know about you, but I like my clothes to be comfortable. Before re-selling I decided to ask on my Instagram stories if anyone knew how to get rid of the ‘itchiness’ and in fact one lovely girl sent me a link to an article of how to get rid of it. To my surprise this method worked, and I can now wear this jumper itch free. I love to style it with a pair of blue jeans and my trench coat or my wide leg trousers for a more chic look.

So, that’s my recent second-hand finds and I’ve definitely got my eye on some more. Particularly some pretty summer dresses for when the weather gets warmer.

Thanks for reading!
