S/S 21 TRENDS: PLAYING DRESS UP

Loungewear. It’s all everyone’s been wearing for the past year and I don't know about you but I am getting a little bored of it. As much as I’ve always loved fashion, I’ve never really been one to love dressing up in long dresses or the usual girly outfits. For my high school prom, I wore a suit, because I hated dresses. But this past year when we haven’t had anything to dress up for, I’ve found myself longing to be able to put a nice outfit on and go out for a meal or for drinks with my friends. And as restrictions start to ease and my spring/summer wardrobe is brought back out, I can’t wait to wear a pretty summer dress and just go for a picnic with my lovely friend Amie. It seems I’m not the only one either. When scrolling through my Instagram feed recently I’ve seen an array of gingham dresses, wide leg trouser suits and fancy co-ords. I think everyone has gotten to the point where they just can’t face loungewear any longer and so are going overboard with their stay-at-home outfits. And I for one am here for it. When all restrictions are lifted on the 21st of June (hopefully) I think we will see a slight ‘roaring 20s’ vibe creeping in as everyone puts their loungewear away and brings out their most glamourous outfits.
Here's some of those outfits I've been loving on Instagram recently.
