Renting. An easy and sustainable way to get access to designer clothing. The key word being sustainability. As we start to look to a more sustainable future in the fashion industry, renting is slowly becoming the next big thing. And as restrictions start to ease and we start to make plans again, I can’t think of a more easy way to find that 21st June outfit.

Recently, I have been given the opportunity by fashion rental platform, HURR, to rent some pieces from them. I have been following them for a while on Instagram now and love what they stand for, so I was over the moon when I received a message from them for a collaboration opportunity. So, I’m going to use this post to tell you a little bit about my experience with renting and just how fun and easy it is.

I think that the best thing to do first is decide what you want to rent. What are you renting it for, where are you going, and how long will you need it for? As I was planning my photoshoots for my university project, I knew I wanted to co-operate whatever I rented into one of the shoots. The idea of the photoshoot was to dress up in flowy dresses and skirts and take the photos in a field, therefore I knew I wanted to rent a dress. After looking through the HURR website I found the perfect dress for my shoot. A gorgeous, shirred bodice, flowy dress with puff sleeves by the brand Sleeper.

So, once I had decided what I wanted to rent I simply requested the dates I wanted it and within an hour the lender got back to me saying she would post the dress that day! The next morning it was here, and the dress was perfect. It is so flattering and fits like a dream. The only bad thing is that I have to send it back!

But seriously, renting is so easy and such a great way to find an outfit for all the events that will be happening after lockdown. Because let’s face it, when you buy a dress for a specific occasion, will you really wear it again? 99% of the time probably not. So, make the more sustainable choice and choose renting.
